In April 2013, Jordan Lippman was putting his children to bed, and thought that in addition to reading books, that they would create a story of their own together. Jordan was moved by the joy of creating stories with his children. As a busy post-doc with limited time, Jordan began to seek parent-child classes to structure their interactions with meaningful and shared learning opportunities. When he wasn’t able to find options that fit his needs and schedule, Jordan began to use his learning science expertise to design a new kind of research-based learning experience that children and families would find enjoyable and valuable.
Driven by the belief that learning is ignited when children are connected to caring adults through interactive play, the seeds of ISA had been planted. As someone who experienced the struggles associated with learning disabilities first hand, and the joy that results from overcoming them, Jordan knew that, with the support of knowledgeable teachers and loved ones, it was possible to accomplish amazing things.
Jordan wanted to create innovative learning experiences that were just as meaningful and enjoyable for parents and educators as they were for children. But, he also knew he could not do it on his own, so he began the search for a passionate and diverse team that could help him bring ISA to life. Luckily, he was able to find what he was looking for: a team of researchers, specialists, artists, and educators to create inspirational programs that will help young people reach their potential.
ISA Learning™ is a Benefit Corporation with the mission of promoting the success of all learners through collaborative problem solving skills.
